So I finished The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness about a week ago and I just want to take this moment to tell the masses (or my 5 followers) that you should read it. It’s really good! It’s a YA sci-fi/dystopia and it’s the first of a trilogy and it’s awesome and the next dog I get I’m naming it Manchee.
Some things you might experience when reading the book:
- Caring deeply for certain characters, abhorrence of others
- Feeling scared/apprehensive
- Sleep deprivation
Other than that the world-building is perfection and the story is gripping and meaningful. Also, it has won loads of awards. Most notably to me, the James Tiptree, Jr. Award for “works of science fiction or fantasy that expand or explore one’s understanding of gender.” and that’s always good, right? Have I convinced you to read it yet?
